About Federal Farm Bill (What is it?)

Let Freedom Ring:
Relief is More Available than Ever

The Farm Bill is one of those things that too many Americans don’t stop and think about. It happens every five years, the government gets together and reviews a ton of laws that directly affects us everyday. Laws that involve international trade, environmental conservation, food safety as well as the overall well-being of farming communities.

But in 2018, The Federal Farm Bill got a little more interesting and it's all because of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s passion over a little plant known as hemp.

This is hemp we’re talking about, not cannabis. There’s a difference. Hemp contains less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and can not get a person high. While this is a big difference for most of us, it wasn’t that way in 1937 when federal law grouped hemp into the same category as cannabis, making them both illegal according to the Marihuana Tax Act. And as if things couldn’t get more unfair, in 1970, they were both officially deemed illegal under the Controlled Substances Act, which banned cannabis of any kind. I guess there was no one there to remind them that hemp is not cannabis.

Luckily, there was one exception made. They were pilot programs designed to study “industrial hemp.” They had to be approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and State Department of Agriculture.

The 2018 Farm Bill changed all that malarkey. In its nitty gritty fine print, it states that it’s now legal to transfer hemp-derived products (as long as it does not contain more than 0.3%

Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC) across state lines for commercial or other purposes. There are no restrictions on the sale, transport or possession of hemp-derived products as long as the products are produced according to the law.

The good news is Hempstead Gold Extracts’ products are fully legal, farmed in Colorado and produced according to the United States Law. They contain 100% natural CBD derived from NON-GMO industrial hemp. Our CBD is certified, grown and harvested in the USA under strict supervision and grown through natural farming practices.
